There are two huge problems in France right now. First, we have no effective government. Second, there is violence everywhere. Once I become your leader, I will solve both of these problems. As your dictator, I will be the only government necessary. As for the violence, anyone who commits a crime will be summarily executed.

One change I will make in the government will be eliminating all the corrupt representatives. In fact, I'll remove all the representatives, corrupt or not. This is supported by the now famous Thomas Hobbes, who I know you have all heard of. There will be no representatives, so anyone who has a problem with anything I do can come complain to me personally. At their own risk, of course.

I am much better suited to be a leader than King Louis XVI. He is a complete pushover, as you all know. One day he'll say one thing, the next day he'll say another. He doean't even want to be king, and he spends his time making tools and locks, not looking after our country. He even lets himself be controlled by his wife, Mary Antoinette, who is gambling away our country's money!

This is a quote from your own beloved king. He thinks he can do whatever he wants, because he is the king. He thinks he's so high and mighty, he doesn't even try to get the opinions of you, the common people. I, as your leader, would listen to everyone's opinions, even that of the lowliest beggar. I just won't be influenced by them.

As you can see, I will make a much better leader than King Louis XIV. I will not be influenced by everything- I will make my own decisions and stand by them. I will *listen* to everyone's opinion. And I won't be pushed around by some woman with a gambling problem, or any problem for that matter.

French Revolution

A) A problem I see in France is the fact we have such high tax prices. Sure we might need to pay back some debts, but we should have never put ourselves in that situation. Some of the governmental spending were unnecessary to us citizens. Another problem I see is the fact that you let some insufficient leader take over power and lead us citizens into misery. The guy had some good qualities but didn't show any when he led us to even more debt, higher prices and food shortages. What I would have done would be verily different from the failures before. I would make sure that the money management was in check so their was no debt and if any it'd be very little. I'd also rule with an Iron fist not so much murdering, but we'd live more as a republic.

B) If I were leader, I'd take people's opinion in consideration yet be able to make firm decisions based on those and keep the society sufficient. Someone who might agree with me is philosophers Thomas Hobbes & John Locke. Mr. Hobbes would prefer to keep a firm hand no matter what the people around him say; Mr. Locke would say to be more of a companion than a leader to the people. Both authority management are agreeable but I'd take a bit of both making my reign successful.
C) -King Louis XVI gained a reign over France, he wanted to help the people from the bottom of this heart. He was married to Marie Antionette, though willingly to help the people he was a push over and didn't really help anyone but the wealthy.
-“Ah, if I were not king, I should lose my temper.” - King Louis XVI. This quote proves that he was a push over kind of leader, but if he wasn't he'd be like everyone else and be able to talk his mind no matter in what manor.
-A fun fact about King Louis XVI is that him and his wife (Marie Antionette) were second cousins.-King Louis XVI was a leader with good intentions but I'd be a better leader. To be a leader you cant be a push over, you have to learn about give and take. The fact that he's ruling over a whole nation with a shy push over mentality is not OK. I'd consist of listening to people's opinion but also using my input. To actually act on the good intentions and make the nation justified.

D) This picture is Roots, of a tree. It shows that I'm grounded with firm feet to my decisions and keep strong.

This is a picture of Pikachu. Obviously its cute but it has certain powers to annihilate its enemies. Which is how I'd like to think of myself, to be nice but I can be a threat too.

It is the late 18th century (1700's). Due to the recent success of the American Revolution, a revolution has erupted in France as well. You are a French citizen, and do not want to live in all out chaos (Hobbes' state of nature). You decide you will seize power and help stabilize France.
In order to do this, you must write a pamphlet to alert your fellow citizens as to why you are the ideal candidate for the job. This pamphlet must include the following:

A) A list of at least two (2) current problems you see in France

- One (1) solution that you will offer to each of these problems

B) A list of at least one (1) change you will implement in the government

- Each change must be supported by one of the enlightenment thinkers

C)Why you are better suited to lead than King Louis XVI, Robespierre, and Napoleon

You must choose at least 1 of these 3 leaders

For each leader you choose, you must include:

- Short Biographical information

- One quote and reflection of what it means about that person

- One (1) interesting fun fact about person

- One (1) paragraph that explains why you are a better leader than them

The church has too much power within our society. In order to move on, to make better choices we must abolish their old time thinking and step forward. When I am elected to represent France, I will lead our country from a new non religious way. Religion will still be allowed, however, it will not take control of our society by holding us back. The second problem I see in France is, the social structure. The church is the highest power followed by nobles and peasants. Is it right that peasants make up 97% of our population? Not in my opinion, as a nation we should make up a democracy and pick great leaders such as myself to represent us. Together we will steadily become the richest country and will be recognized all over the world.

As a Nation, we should lay down some rules. I believe that we should abolish the rule of the church and move on as a democracy. Like John Locke, I believe that we should have a democracy. Locke believed rule should be with the people with a central ruled government.

King Louis XVI is a worthy opponent but I feel his tactics are horrid.

A) France is in a very bad state right now, people are dying and people are being accused for nothing, we also have very high taxes because we are in debt, but just because we are doesn't mean we should pay high taxes. Another problem we have is our leader, he led us into misery.
As for the people that are being accused, killed and/or charged high taxes, I would help them by making sure we have a treasurer to manage our money so that we don't go into debt. I would also like to try and stop all the murders and wrongful accusing.

B) I would change the way the government treated people because they are wrongfully accusing people of crimes they did not commit and charging people high taxes which put a burden on the poor because they may not be able to pay the taxes.

C) King Louis XVI was married to Marie Antoinette at a very young age, they were both in their teens, France went into debt because of him. He allowed Marie Antoinette to gamble away all their money and he was sort of a pushover.

I understand that there is total chaos in france. There is unfair treatment, guillotines, and strict rulers are taking liberty away. If you give me power, I will change all of this. I will make France a better place and everyone will be happier. I will create a democracy and give liberty back to the people.

I will make the government a democracy. For the people, by the people. John Locke, an enlightenment thinker, has inspired me and supports the idea that people are good and can make good decisions themselves.

King Louis was trying to save the privileges of the upper class

people. He didn't care about the lower class. He created 3 Estates. It was basically the poor the middle class and the upper class. The lower class made up more than 80% of the community

, but the upper classes got more of a say in things. Louis obviously didn't care about his people like i would. I would respect every person, no matter how wealthy they are. I would also be a strong leader and not a pushover. That is why i am a better choice fo

One of my best qualities is how i believe in community. I know the community and i know how people feel about the government. We all should contribute to the community.

A) France is clearly in a state of chaos. Innocent people are dying, and the majority of the population is without representation. This state of blind anger can not go on. I propose that the working people, who are the base of our country, be given equal representation in government. Also, trials should be conducted in a such a way that the outcome is just and fair. I will end the bloodshed by abolishing the death penalty. Ultimately my goal is to see the guillotines all across France go up in flames, so that no citizen may live in fear.

b) The new government in France will be based on a policy that all citizens should have equal rights. No citizen should be forced to live in poverty. If you work hard, it should reflect the amount of money you make. Taxes should be paid based on the amount you make, instead of most of it being paid by the third estate. Initially, representation in government will be based on the amount of people in each estate. Right now, the rich are steadily gaining wealth and enjoying the highest luxuries, while the rest of the peasant class are barely making enough to live off of. Everyone should have equal opportunities.

c) King Louis XVI was born 23 August 1754. He became the king of France, and married Marie Antoinette of Austria when he was only 15. His reign lasted for 17 years, until he was arrested during the French Revolution. He was held on trial by the National Convention, a convicted of high treason. He was executed by the guillotine on 21 January 1793, the only french king ever to be executed.
King Louis once said "I will never consent to the plundering of my clergy and my nobles. Fine actions had earned them their privileges; the king of France must conserve those privileges for them." He believed that only the rich and wealthy meaning nobles and members of the clergy, would be given privileges. King Louis was a spineless man, who did not care so much about his country, as preserving his own luxurious lifestyle.
- King Louis was very shy, and preferred hunting in field, and working as a locksmith instead of his duties as a ruler.

King Louis shy character, and indecisiveness made him a poor leader. For a great nation such as France, a powerful leader is needed. I will be that powerful leader. I will not back down, and I will end the era of instability that is sweeping France in the wake of King Louis. I will abolish the use of the guillotine, and provide equal rights for all citizens.

I will rule like a bolt of lightning, because as a leader, I will be powerful, controlled, and strike quick.
