A) A list of at least two (2) current problems you see in France
- One (1) solution that you will offer to each of these problemsTwo current problems in France are that the government is very inconsistent and that the poor are under-represented.A solution to the inconsistent government is to get a strong new leader who can actually make decisions and stick with them unlike Louis XVI.
A solution to the unfair representation is to give representatives to the different groups based on the number of people in the different groups. This will help to balance out the power between the rich and poor.
B) A list of at least one (1) change you will implement in the government
- Each change must be supported by one of the enlightenment thinkersOne change I would make in the government would be to use more of John Lockes ideas to create a government where the people can decide about what to do for different issues. I would also use Montesquieu’s ideas so that power is checked, and no one person has too much.

C)Why you are better suited to lead than King Louis XVI, Robespierre, and Napoleon

- Short Biographical information- One quote and reflection of what it means about that person
- One (1) interesting fun fact about person
- One (1) paragraph that explains why you are a better leader than them

I am better suited to lead France than Robespierre, because Robespierre had very controlling views, and although he tried to make a better country, he always believed he was right. If anyone disagreed with him, he would just kill them with the guillotine instead of listening to their opinions. This led to a great fear in France. One interesting fact about Robespierre is that after a while, his enemies decided to put him on trial, and eventually he was killed by the guillotine, the same way he killed all his enemies.
If I were leader, I wouldn’t kill people just for disagreeing with me, instead I would listen and try to find a solution that everyone could live with. This would prevent unnecessary fear and uncertainty in the government.

D) part 2: This image shows that everyone is equal! If you are small, have soft fur, black fur, tan fur, or even spots we are all equal. I also believe everyone is equal and I would make sure that the laws do not harm the poor and instead we as a empire will come together and help one another so we can be greater as a whole just as these cats did they helped each other out!

D) part 1: This Image shows that not only am I a leader but I am a leader of the people. That is why this image is caring the city because the leader is there to serve just as I am:)

A problem I have observed in France are the French leaders and this great fear they have created. French leaders did not have a good structure toward their empires. Leaders such as King Louis XVI and his wife who spent too much. Robespierre, who was not open, and caused that revolution to spin out of control. A way to fix these

French Revolution

A)There are two problems I'm currently seeing in France. The first being the un-balanced level of equality among the three different estates, in terms of rights/privilege's. The second being that a fair amont of the population live in very unstable, and even dangerous living conditions. Not only do this people need to be helped, but there rights need to be established and enforced. My solution to the problem of equality would be to come up with a new constitution giving everyone the same fundamental rights, that in every situation that you are a CITIZEN of france you will remain to have these rights. Secondly, my solution to the increasing level of poor living conditions for mainly the working class, will be to provide cheep, sustainable homing near the plant they work by. This will be done by taking a partial sum amont from tax payers money, to build homes within walking distance of every major plant. As of now im not in power, but there is one major thing that I will be sure to put into play as soon as I become in power. This will be to try to peacefully end all tensions that France has. This will increase the amont of workers France will have, due to all the returning soliders. This will increase productivity in manufacturing goods, which in turn will increase what we export. Soon after that we will have become a large exporting nation, that will have allies in case of invaders. Along with that will come the increase in profit coming to France, which will lower cost of goods, and make lesure items available to even the lowest of wage workers. This is supported by Lock. This is because he believed everyone could come together, and the nation would eventually become self sufficient.C) Napoleon- Was a self chosen dictator who tried gaining power by expanding. When this failed at first he kept on pushing, eventually leading to him being banished and dying six years after that from a stomach problem. A quote from Napoleon, "A Constitution should be short and obscure." This showed that he didn't believe in equal rights, because equal rights has not happend yet in France, therefor making the topic long, descriptive, and persuasive. I on the other hand would never make a constitution without equal rights, I'd never go into a another nation just to expand, or for any violent intentions with no reasons to back it up. I will always consider my people before myself, and I will make sure the equal rights among the estates is enforced. This is why I would be a better leader then Napoleon Bonaparte.
C)Why you are better suited to lead than King Louis XVI, Robespierre, and Napoleon

You must choose at least 1 of these 3 leaders

For each leader you choose, you must include:

- Short Biographical information

- One quote and reflection of what it means about that person

- One (1) interesting fun fact about person

- One (1) paragraph that explains why you are a better leader than them

1) There are two major problems in France. There is a lack of leadership and an unequal balance of power between the social classes. As the leader of France I would make the social classes equal by distributing the power. I would give the majority of voting to the peasants. They represent the majority of the country. If took over as the ruler of France I wouldn't be as passive as King Louis. I wouldn't let people tell how to rule. I would be fair and want to represent the choices of the citizens.

2) One change I would have is more power to the people. I would want to run a democratic government. The people's choice would be extremely important to me. I would more time to consider cases that involve murder. I would use the guillotione very carefully. Once you kill someone you can't take it back.

3) King Louis is the king of France. He was very inconsistent and was manipulated by the higher classes . He would tell the social classes different things. I would be a better ruler then Louis because I would be honest. I'd make sure everyone was being told the same thing.

"Do not follow the bad example which I have set you; I have often undertaken war too lightly and have sustained it for vanity. Do not imitate me, but be a peaceful prince, and may you apply yourself principally to the alleviation of the burdens of your subjects".

I ask you why would you want a ruler who tells people not to be like him.?

Napoleon was a poor leader too. Napoleon was always off fighting in Wars. He would come back and tell everyone that he had won the battle. He was to power hungry to be a good ruler. He declared himself the emperor of France. The people didn't elect him. Having a dishonest leader could be a real setback.

"A revolution is an idea which has found its bayonets."

Napoleon is obsessed with war. Constant won't benefit France. Being in war to long would take up people's time and resources.

Robespierre was a very influential character, but he was a poor leader. He didn't trust his own followers. Hobbes and Robespierre belief humans were naturallu evil. Robespierre belief people shouldn't question his authority. He killed his people for the slightest hint of rebelion. If anyone has a new idea it was off with their heads.
I would be a better ruler because I belief humans are naturally good. The average human wants the best for society. I want to get the best out of my loyal subjects. I wouldn't take execution lightly. Nobody in France would have to worry about themselves, their family or friends if I was in control.
"Pity is treason"
Robespierre was way to harsh. Nobody could make mistakes of live without fear. He was paranoid about revolutions or the people fighting back.

The three estates were very critical, and didn't give any of the lower class people rights. This is very unfair and just because you are poor, doesn't mean you should be treated that way. I would change this law, and not allow people to discriminate against someone because of their social class, and those that weren't born into a very wealthy living space, would be able to work up to that position, and actually be somebody in life, their rights would not be restricted.

Louis XVI. Of course it is fair to give everyone a chance to have some power, but when we receive a leader like this, he/she will not be in the position for long. France and its people cannot afford a bad leader, we as people deserve much more than being cheated for money. So if you chose me to become a leader, I would want the best for the people, because I count as a citizen also, and if i destroy my country, it would not only largely effect the people, but it will effect me and as well as my family, which proves i will treat the people right.

A change that I would make in the government would be that I would change ruling to a democracy form. I believe in everyone having a say in what is being chosen for the ALL, the ALL includes the people, so why not allow the people to have a say??? Exactly they should have a say, which is why I want a democracy, so the people have power as well, not just the supreme ruler. Locke supports this, because he as well believed in the people, and trusted that they would make right decisions, and should be able to have a say.

Maximilien Robespierre was a very powerful leader, who always thought he was right. When someone would disagree with him, he would give them punishment. Ultimately he wasn't really loved by that many.
"Terror is Justified", this is what Robespierre ruled by, he believed that scaring people and hurting them was okay. When someone disagreed with him he believed it was the right thing to do, so he just killed them. Even if someone didn't do anything and he didn't like them, he would kill them, no questions asked.
Robespierre was a very influential leader in the Jacobin club. I believe this was because he liked them, but he didn't treat others in this manner.
I am a better leader than Robespierre because all he pretty much cared about was himself, money, and the Jacobin's. People could do as little as walking on the street, minding their own business, and would get arrested, just because Robespierre didn't like him/her. Just because I may dislike someone I wouldn't arrest them for that reason. I would listen to the people and and take in what they have to say, and actually base my rules on them. People deserve power, and with me as a leader, they will be given that power.
Obama is who i would be, he is strong, listens to the people and and takes into consideration of what they say.
I would be MLK, what was best for the people and wanted FREEDOM. This is who I admire.
Problems:
the social classes in France suck! there are a few rich and wealthy people and even less church leaders.
Another problem is the reign of terror. the reign of terror was a time when if people didnt like each other they would file a report and they would go to court and do a trial. about ten minutes later the person who is being tried would go to get their head off.

Solutions:
I would make the rich people pay taxes.

I would try the people, and if i think they are guilty i would not kill them. I would imprison them.

change in the government:
I would have to go with locke, and have a democracy. I would do that because I believe all people are good and they should be able to make their own desisions together.

Who are you better than?
I am better than Robesphere. I am better than him because he is the person that caused the reign of terror. Also most people call him a
blood-thirsty leader.that is completely true because when people complained about other people all he did was give them a trial then he sends them to the guietine. he was born in 1758,and he died in 1794. Thats only 30-40 years of life.

blaah

I, Uswa Iqbal, want to seize power and help in stabilizing France. I am tired of living in this chaos filled environment. The government which was once honest and cared for its people has now become corrupt. The way we vote is unfair, the 97% of people who make up our population don't have fair rights. People are getting guillotined unreasonably. They have no say, no choice but to obey their leader. The citizens of France are still loyal but the leaders of France have lost their passion for their country. To improve our situation, I suggest that we call a meeting among the government and discuss all the issues that are corrupting our country. Also, we should stop guillotining citizens until the meeting board comes up with a solution.
If I were to come to power, I would instantly stop guillotining citizens to create a more free environment where people can stand up for themselves and not be pushed around. I would require each estate to only pay as much as they can depending on the amount of their salary. This will create a sense of equality throughout the nation.

Our leader, Robespierre, has caused us to live through t
he Reign of Terror. Robespierre believes that this time of terror is a time of discovering an enemy within Paris. Therefore, he has started guillotining anyone who he suspects may have bad intentions. He is fearful of defeat from the Revolution. Robespierre even said , "To punish the oppressors of humanity is clemency; to forgive them is barbarity." This quote explains how he treats us, the citizens of France who are clearly living in fear. His intentions were once good, but now he has become to cold hearted to even see what he's doing to his own people and his country. In fact, he is currently listed a
s number 9 on "the worlds most cruelest leaders." (http://www.worldinterestingfacts.com/human/10-worlds-most-cruel-leader-in-human-history.html)
Clearly, my ways of leading greatly differ from his. I respect and care for my country and all its people. I will try my hardest and my best to sort out this mess that Robespierre has lead his country into. I will NOT go around beheading innocent citizens and I will compose reasonable taxes. Most importantly, I will never stop caring for my people and my country. I will support them through everything and never betray them.
(Picture#1 represnts all the qualitites that a great leader contains, that I contain.)
(Picture # 2This picture represents how I'll always care for my country no matter how the time are)

Aalaa: problems in French revolution

A) the two problems in france is the life cost is high and there are a lot of poor people . the solution for those problems in first one the life cost is high

there is a lot of people are poor and they can buy food and the stuff that they need so the goverment have to make the life cost lower and that is good all people buy what they need. for the anther problem the goverment have to look job for poor people . rich people and church people have to give poor people some money some people can not found any thing to eat . We need equality .

B) poor people need equality so the goverment have to give poor people food and money.

C)napoleon

. napoleon was born in corsica

. napoleon was great ruler

. He born and died in island

. The Rosetta Stone is a very famous archaelogical discovery that helped scientists decipher ancient heiroglyphics. It was found as a direct result of Napolean conquering Egypt.

. Napoleon was 5 feet 6 1/2½ inches tall, while at school he was only 4 feet 10 inches tall.

He was an excellent leader, a masterful tactician on the battlefield, brought a lot of new concepts to mainland Europe such as constitutions, and rallied France from it's darkest time (and France has had quite a few "dark times" in history).

D )

i put this image because every leader have to be open mainded

i put this because the leader have to listen to other people ideas

Kirin Saint
A) A list of at least two (2) current problems you see in France
One large problem I see in my country today is all the
excessive beheading that is occurring that has led to the Reign of
Terror. When the guillotine was invented, we didn’t expect there to
be public executi
ons daily! It is horrendous to think that someone
can have their head chopped off if they make a small mistake. This
cannot continue to happen.
Another problem that I see is in our leader – Maximilien
Robespierre. He is extremely controlling, and makes all the decisions
for our country without consulting us. He doesn’t realize that
sometimes he can be wrong. Much of the guillotining is his fault – he
does nothing to stop the beheading, and in fact encourages it!

- One (1) solution that you wil
l offer to each of these problems
To solve the problem of beheading, I would declare guillotines
to be illegal. It is simply inhumane to cut off someone’s head, and
especially for no good reason.
I would replace Robespierre with another leader, one who
would listen to their people – not just order them
around. This leader
would be understanding, and rational.

B) A list of at least one (1) change you will implement in the
government
Instead of having the death penalty, I would let each criminal
have a trial. If they are declared guilty, they will be incarcerated for an
appropriate length of time. Like Cesare Bonesana Beccaria thought:
the punishment should be based on the crime – no cruel/unusual
punishment.
- Each change must be supported by one of the enlightenment
thinkers

C) Why you are better suited to lead than King Louis XVI,
Robespierre, and Napoleon
I am better suited to lead because I will be an understanding leader. I will listen to my people -- I will be open minded, and consider using their ideas. Robespierre was a cruel man and beheaded his people. He had no mercy, and was not reasonable. I will not be like Robespierre -- I will be kind, yet in control.

You must choose at least 1 of these 3 leaders
For each leader you choose, you must include:
- Short Biographical information
- One quote and reflection of what it means about that person
- One (1) interesting fun fact about person
- One (1) paragraph that explains why y
ou are a better leader than
them
Maximilien Robespierre was from Arras, France. He was
elected into the Estates General in 1789, and stayed in poitics ever
since. He was one of the main leaders of France during the French
Revolution, and was very controlling of his people.
Robespierre once said "The king must die so that the country can live."
This shows how blunt and unreasonable Robespierre was -- he had his opinion, and he stuck with them, even if they weren't the best for the country.
D) At least two (2) pictures that represent your leadership qualities
and a couple sentences to explain each picture

I chose this picture because it represents me listening to my people. I will take their ideas into consideration, as well as listen to their feedback on my decisions.

Since Napoleon made himself emperor he made this thing called the Napoleon Code, and it's a system of laws. I am the better leader because I would never lie to my people, I would never kill my people but only if they brake the law- do a serious crime or maybe give them life in jail.

A.) PROBLEMS:
1. The social classes in France are horrible, there are few rich and wealthy people and even fewer church members, meaning that about 90% of their population is poor and struggling people.
2. The reign of terror was a time where the rulers of France would arrest people without having any real reasoning behind it, they would also put them to a life sentence or chop their heads off

SOLUTIONS:

1. I would make the rich people pay more taxes then the poor people so then the poor people could still be able to save their money.
2. I would make a better judge system so we can put people on tri
al and decide if they are guilty in a better way then just thinking there guilty and killing them

B.) CHANGE:
1. One change I will make is to make the social classes more even by setting up a tax system that will help the poorest class the most.
With uneven taxes the richer classes pay more taxes then the poor classes so that the poor can save their money better by not having to pay so much. Hobbes said that men are born evil and need a strong government to keep them under control, meaning if we had a weak government that everyone would try to fight about taxes and nothing would be accomplished in the end.

C.) King Louis XVI
1.) King Louis XVI does not stand up for himself and he does whatever anyone tells him to do, he is mostly a sidekick to his wife Marie Antoinette.
2.)
"I will never consent to the plundering of my clergy and my nobles. Fine actions had earned them their privileges; the king of France must conserve those privileges for them." Kind Louis XVI is talking about how he wants to become his own person and be the true ruler of France, but he never accomplishes this. This may just be another act hes playing for his citizens, showing them that he's trying to be a real King when in reality he's not.
3.) Some fun facts about King Louis XVI were that him and his wife Marie Antoinette got married when she was 14 and he was 15, he also needed to have an operation to make him able to get Marie pregnant. One of his many hobbies included lock making.
4.) I am a better leader then King Louis XVI because I stick up for myself and when I make a choice I stick to it and I don't change my mind just because a group of people don't agree with me. Another thing is that King Louis XVI let his wife, Marie Antoinette run his government and
his life, I wouldn't let one person run something that is rightfully mine. I am a better leader then King Louis XVI because I will run my country, not my citizens and not my spouse.

D.)
The picture to the left shows how I will make my community understand each other and except each other even if they're different. The picture to the bottom shows how I will be a great leader like Obama and I will help my nation progress.

French Revolution

It is the late 18th century (1700's). Due to the recent success of the American Revolution, a revolution has erupted in France as well. You are a French citizen, and do not want to live in all out chaos (Hobbes' state of nature). You decide you will seize power and help stabilize France. In order to do this, you must write a pamphlet to alert your fellow citizens as to why you are the ideal candidate for the job. This pamphlet must include the following:
A) A list of at least two (2) current problems you see in France
- One (1) solution that you will offer to each of these problems
B) A list of at least one (1) change you will implement in the government
- Each change must be supported by one of the enlightenment thinkers
C)Why you are better suited to lead than King Louis XVI, Robespierre, and Napoleon
You must choose at least 1 of these 3 leaders
For each leader you choose, you must include:
- Short Biographical information
- One quote and reflection of what it means about that person
- One (1) interesting fun fact about person
- One (1) paragraph that explains why you are a better leader than them
D) At least two (2) pictures that represent your leadership qualities and a couple sentences to explain each picture

A) there is not power, no order , food is scarce, we live with no representation, and every decision our leaders make we have no say in them.

B) I would be Frances new best leader I would spend Frances money wisely and on smart things not my clothes or castle. I would be the best representative for France because I'm strong, fierce, smart but loving and caring. The decisions I would make for the country would be voted on by the people to help decide the out come. The people would have power also but I would'nt be a push over. That is why when France is in need no need to fear Kane will be there.

New French Leader Possibilities

A) A list of at least two (2) current problems you see in France
- One (1) solution that you will offer to each of these problems

- The social class is not well balanced. Most of the money is with the wealthy people and the church. The vast majority of the people (97%) are poor.
- Many people are being pointlessly slaughtered in France. The entire population is scared that they will be killed.

- (Solution) These pointless killings (called the reign of terror) were the result of Maxmillian Robespierre's paranoia of being overthrown. Anyone that supposedly posed a threat to Robespierre was swiftly tried and executed via the guillotine. A simple solution to this problem would be to remove Maxmillian Robespierre from power.
B) A list of at least one (1) change you will implement in the government
- Each change must be supported by one of the enlightenment thinkers

One change that I would make to France is to be a leader that doesn't kill people without carefully considering what they could have done. I would also create more order in France by making new laws. The problems in France that occurred under rulers such as King Louis XVI and Maximillian Robespierre were caused by a lack of order. This change would be supported by the enlightenment thinker Hobbes, who believed that people needed strict laws for order to be possible.

King Louis XVI was the king of France when the Revolution began. King Louis had good intentions for France, but he was a very poor ruler. He listened to his wife instead of his advisors, who provided him with bad advice. He was a pushover; when he passed laws, he often would go back on his word. King Louis attempted to flee from France during the French Revolution.
I would be a better than King Louis because if I were to pass a reform, I would not go back on it. As a leader, I would rule with more authority and actually pay attention to the citizens I would be taking care of. King Louis actually realized how poor of a leader he was when he told his people "Do not follow the bad example which I have set for you."

lol...

A) I, Debbie Kang, have taken notice of many issues taken place in France. Our government, once leading and benevolent, distorted itself to a corrupt and a form of tyranny. Our common citizens, people of the lower class are highly taxed and surviving off of minimum wage while the higher rich esate pay no taxes and dine finely. We create 97% of the population in France, all are unable to represent themselves for voting, for we get outvoted by the other 3%. Without a voice to speak in our government and being treated unfairly our leaders have proved themselves irresponsible and inadequate to lead a country. I believe we should respond to this by overthrowing the king to solve these situations we are suffering from. We should stand up and discuss how our votes should be changed to a better system with more representation. We should demand less taxes and more on the higher esates. Son, he may lead the country but we ARE the country.

B)

You know what we need to do if you pick me? Well, we're going raid and find King Louis. We'll charge into his castle with a rage level of 5000+. We'll come in with fiery madness and teach that spineless coward who really owns the country. Locke said that leaders could be overthrown by the citizens if proved unworthy. It is the citizens who decide who governs them. Following his words, we are able to overthrow King Louis. Now, once we overthrow him, I'll become your new leader. First we will all have an equal chance of voting based on the number of people in each esate. For example, perhaps the first higher esates will have 300 votes and the bottom class would have 600 in total. Therefore, we would have all an equal chance to represent ourselves.

C) King Louis was a very weak leader of France. Instead of indulging in studies and learning about economics he was often found outside hunting and doing outdoor activities. A leader requires a vast knowledge of politics, economics, and various subjects. King Louis was dissatisfied with all of them and rather spend time outside lallygagging.
In yahoo answers, I quote, " -He was always ready to listen to advice, which disadvantaged him greatly later in life, and got him disliked by the people of France, and they later killed him." To lead something, you should lead yourself. Listening to others is always good but King Louis only followed others advices because he had no advice to give. He was chosen to lead the country at the age of 15 - an age too young and immature to run an entire landmass. He also supported the american revolution which led them into greater debt. Wise move, sir.

I AM A POLAR BEAR. Because I am cute and cuddly. And you can hug me because I'm fuzzy. But if you touch my babies, I claw your face off.

Overpowering wealthy class and they only consist of 3% of population and 97% is the poor with only 1/3 of say in voting.

France has fallen into a fearing time where the people are scared about the making of a new government due to their uncontrolled and chaotic ways. This causes many suicides and loss of hope.

I plan to create an organized structured government where the French can be happy in their own land and advance as a country with a new and improved leader,me.

Maximilien Robespierre was a positive leader who followed John Lockes theory of "all men are naturally good" Although his ideas were good he was very positive he reflected them horribly by cutting the heads of the people who disagreed with him. Like John Locke says "Men are all good and do not need a structure to lead their people." I believe if you are a follower of this theory you wouldn't need a leader. One thing is to agree and grow from this and the other is to lead from it its contradicting itself. I would allow the people to have some say into their life plans and trust that they are good.

If I could lead I would stay grounded and be confident with my essential leading. I would beinfluenced by Locke but stay true to my believes as well.

Problems
A.) People are being taxed causing 97% of us are poor
~No one was in power so it was chaotic
~The food is very scares
~Where all separated into different classes from the rich and the poor.
~People were being killed or punished for no reason
Solutions
~To make high levels have to pay taxes also
~Make all levels equal so no one is treated unfairly
~Find better leaders
Change
The change I would make would be to have a better person in government to lead the people fairly. Also i would make the "higher" class pay taxes more than the middle class, because it would even out the money they each receive. The wealthier people make more money, doesn't make them better though. They should have to pay taxes just like everyone else.
Maximilien Robespierre
Maximilien Robespierre was one of the leaders during the French Revolution. He wasn't what you would call a good leader. He was very controlling and only like the way he though, he didn't care what anyone else had to say. He was also part of the Jacobin political party, which believed strongly in the "Reign of Terror".
Quote
"Terror is only justice: prompt, severe and inflexible; it is then an emanation of virtue; it is less a distinct principle than a natural consequence of the general principle of democracy, applied to the most pressing wants of the country."
When Maximilien said this, what he was trying to say was that the consequence should not just be something that is "natural" or happens every time, it should be something that is wanted by the citizens of the town or people of higher power.
Interesting Fact
Maximilian had the nickname incorruptible when he was leader. He believed so strongly in his own opinion that when people came to him with their ideas he wouldn't even budge to consider them.
I am a Better Leader
Maximilian did not care about anyone besides himself and his own ideas. I actually listen to what people have to say, but do what's best for everyone. Not just what's for me or for certain people. Also he punishes people for doing absolutely nothing wrong. He would kill someone if he just didn't like the way they looked. I would only punish someone when the consequence was neccisary. Maximilian was not a good leader. He was unfair and cruel and that's why I would be a better leader than him.

Michelle Obama Wax Figure
I am putting up a picture of Michelle Obama because she leads many different organizations to help the community and if I were a leader I would also do that. She is a strong willed lady and someone to look up upon.

I put up this picture of Kobe because he is a leader of his team and knows what it takes
to be successful. He also puts his heart into every games he plays and will do anything to
him and his teammates out. Which if I were the leader I would do anything and everything for
community.
