Mr. Z's Plan for Stability

French Problems (a)
1) I see a ton of problems in France right now, but the biggest one has to do with representation. We need equal representation for all. I agree direct democracy is flawed, but we do not even have an indirect democracy either. The church and the rich people have all the power, but we are really the people who should have the power. Pick me and I guarantee that we will have free elections. I will take all the power away from the church, I am not a fan of religion. I will abolish the estates-general and will introduce a new voting system. I will ask the citizens questions and collect votes on what they feel is right. Then, I will ultimately make the decision based on what the people have said.....

Governmental Changes (b)
1) John Locke said, "all wealth is the product of labor." This means that if you are willing to work hard, you can earn money (capitalism). In the new government I create, everyone will have an equal opportunity to gain money and power. I will do this by setting up schools that will open to everyone. The only peasants will be those people that are lazy and unwilling to work hard.....

Other Leaders (c)
-Maximilien Robespierre was born in 1758 in Arras, France. He is a lawyer and a Jacobin, member of the Jacobin club. He believes in beginning a new France as well, one which gives the people more rights. He was elected to be the leader of the committee of public safety and it is his job to clean up France. However, in "cleaning up" France, he began the reign of terror and was killing everyone. Ultimately, he was a dictator and wiped out all those that opposed his views for a new France.
-Robespierre once said, "Terror is nothing else than swift, severe, indomitable justice; it flows, then, from virtue." This means that he believed in enacting any means necessary to acheive his goals. This quote makes it seem like he is a virtuous man, but in reality he is a killer. This quote shows that he will kill quickly and will kill everything that stands in his way.
-Robespierre was executed by guillotine and was forced to be face up when the blade came down. I guess they wanted him to feel the pain that he had caused so many others.
-I think it is obvious why I am a better leader than Robespierre. He was a "virtuous" man, but ultimately he was bloodthirsty. I mean he started a period of time known as the "reign of terror." I will start a period of time known as the "reign of rainbows," because we will all be happy when I am ruling. I will do my best to make sure we all have equal rights, and this will be accomplished by voting and justice, not the guillotine. I am the best man to lead us to stability.
Descriptive Pictures (d)

I am like a wolf because I am loyal like a dog, man's best friend. However, I am also strong and will not be crossed.

I am like a rubber band because I am willing to bend the rules a little bit to make life better for everyone, but I will never break.
